The Gatos Band plays a blend of funk, blues, Latin, and jazz fusion. They deliver a unique and enjoyable musical treat by five seasoned, passionate and creative musicians! Guitars, Bass, Sax, drums, percussion, strong leads, and detailed vocal harmonies build on the classic covers and new originals that they play.

Rick – Guitar, Vocals

Rick Pruitt is a multi-instrumentalist and music educator from Lafayette, CO. Rick has his BA in Classical Guitar from the University of Miami, and has studied and performed extensively with Flamenco great, Rene Heredia.

In addition to his performances with the gatos, you can find Rick playing Flamenco at Piripi in Erie during the first Monday of each month for Paella night.

Cherri – Bass, Vocals

Cherri Pruitt is a bassist and vocalist from Lafayette, CO. Cherri’s immersion into playing bass guitar started when she turned 50 and her husband, Rick, surprised her with her first instrument. Her biggest influence is Victor Wooten and his book the Music Lesson. Victor’s influence helps her feel the groove whenever she plays!

Eddie – Guitar, Vocals

Eddie Monahan is a guitarist and vocalist from Lafayette, CO. Eddie has been playing guitar since his teen years, and he received professional training at the Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA. Eddie brings to the Gatos a strong foundation in jazz and a love of all other types of music.

Matt – Tenor Saxophone

Matt Jungclaus is a saxophonist and flutist from Lafayette, CO. Matt has been a performer on saxophone(s), flute, and guitar for more than 15 years. Matt studied mechanical engineering and jazz performance at the University of Virginia, learning jazz theory under John D’Earth and Jeff Decker.

Debbi – Drums, Percussion

Debbi Larson is a drummer from Lafayette, CO. She has been playing drums since she was 10 years old, and has been involved in numerous creative musical collaborations over the years. Suffice to say, if you live in Boulder County and you’re a professional musician you probably know and love Debbi!
